David: The Epic Series
After failing to obey God’s command concerning the Amalekites, Saul is rejected as king by Samuel. Saul struggles to accept this judgment and becomes increasingly fearful and volatile. Meanwhile, Samuel travels to Bethlehem to find a new king among Jesse’s sons. Despite the strength and appearance of the older brothers, God chooses David, the youngest and least expected. Samuel secretly anoints David, and the Spirit of the Lord comes upon him. As Saul begins suffering from a troubling spirit, his servants bring David to the palace to play music for him. David’s presence temporarily calms Saul, and the two begin a complex relationship—one unaware that David is destined to replace him.
